Police say victim was shot before blaze; investigation ongoing

LAS VEGAS (Oct. 16, 2025) — A man found dead early Thursday morning inside a burning home in northwest Las Vegas was the victim of a homicide, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Firefighters with Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responded around 3:24 a.m. to the 6200 block of Carmen Boulevard after reports of a house fire. Upon entering the residence, they discovered a man suffering from severe burns. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.


Investigators later found evidence of blood inside the home and determined the fire may have been deliberately set. LVMPD homicide detectives were called to assist and confirmed that the man had been shot before the blaze began. Detectives are now treating the case as an intentional killing.

Police have not released the victim’s name. The Clark County Coroner’s Office will identify him and determine the exact cause and manner of death.
