Larry Don Allen, a devoted husband, father, Papa, and long-time resident of Saginaw, Texas, passed away on Oct. 4, 2026, in Fort Worth, at the age of 74. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Colton McBride Memorial at https://coltonmcbridesundayfunday.com/ Funeral Service: 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026, in the Breyley Suite at Mount Olivet. Larry was born on April 30, 1952, in Fort Worth, he grew up locally and attended North Side High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army with the 81st Armor Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, stationed at Fort Hood and Wiesbaden, Germany. Following his military service, Larry continued his education at Weatherford College before graduating from Texas Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. He enjoyed a long and successful career in manufacturing, lending his talents and hard work to companies including Hatcher Tractor, the Ben Hogan Company, Motorola, Nokia, and Reckitt Benckiser. Outside of his professional life, Larry was an avid golfer, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family-especially fulfilling his favorite role as “Papa” to his cherished grandchildren, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Driven by a deep sense of compassion and service, Larry was a constant and invaluable presence at the Colton McBride Sunday Funday Memorial. He was also deeply active with the LOSS Team of Tarrant County offering support, comfort, and hope to families and friends navigating the heartbreak of losing a loved one to suicide. His willingness to show up for others during their darkest and most difficult moments reflected the true measure of his character and heart. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Anderson and Minnie Allen; his brother, Frank Allen; and his sisters, Mary Barnes and Ethel Short. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Patrice Allen; his sons, Shay Allen and partner, Tessa Cunningham, and Anderson Allen and wife, Carmen; his four cherished granddaughters, Alyssa, Avelyn, Viviana, and Emersyn Allen; his brother, William Allen and wife, Dana; his sister, Martha Pryor; his brother-in-law, Butch McBride and wife, Donna; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
