Get Paid to Share Links: Become a Digital News Distributor

The newspaper distribution went digital. Las Vegas News, powered by Las Vegas Newspaper, is giving approved Partners a way to help distribute news online and earn a share of eligible advertising revenue generated by the real readership they help create.

By Samantha Reyes | Las Vegas News

For generations, newspapers relied on people to physically distribute printed news to homes, businesses and communities. Today, more readers discover news through websites, social networks, creators, group administrators, newsletters and online communities. Las Vegas News is applying that same distribution principle to the digital era.

The Newspaper Distribution Went Digital

A newspaper can publish an important story, but the story has little impact if nobody sees it. Distribution has always been part of the news business. In the print era, distributors and carriers moved physical newspapers from the publisher to readers. In the digital era, that route can begin with a phone, a social account, a website, an email list, a community group or a creator with an audience.

The shift is measurable. The Reuters Institute’s 2026 Digital News Report found that, across 48 markets, social media and video networks became the most widely used route to online news, used by 54% of respondents, ahead of news organizations’ own websites and apps at 51%.

In the United States, the audience shift is also visible. Pew Research Center reports that 21% of U.S. adults regularly get news from news influencers on social media, rising to 38% among adults ages 18 to 29.

The newspaper distributor did not disappear. The distribution became digital.

Las Vegas News, powered by Las Vegas Newspaper, created its Digital News Distribution opportunity as one way to continue providing income opportunities to people who help news reach readers. Instead of picking up bundles of printed newspapers, approved Partners choose published Las Vegas News stories, create their tracked distribution links and share those stories with real people.

Why Las Vegas News Built the Program

Technology changed how newspapers reach readers, but it did not eliminate the need for distribution. Las Vegas News sees an opportunity to use that transition to create a modern role for the people who help journalism travel.

Las Vegas News is powered by Las Vegas Newspaper. The Digital News Distribution Program reflects a simple idea: as newspaper distribution moves online, people who legitimately help distribute the news should have an opportunity to participate in the economic value that distribution can create.

The old tools were bundles, delivery routes and physical locations. The new tools are tracked links, smartphones, social platforms, websites, creators and online communities.

Yesterday’s distribution

Newspaper → physical distributor → homes and businesses → readers

Today’s digital distribution

Las Vegas News → tracked article → Digital News Distributor → online audience → readers → eligible advertising revenue → Partner commission

How Do You Get Paid to Share Links?

The model is straightforward:

You distribute a tracked Las Vegas News article Real readers open and read the story Eligible advertising activity generates revenue Your Partner account receives its applicable share

You are not paid simply because a link was posted. The economic value comes from legitimate readership and the eligible advertising revenue associated with that readership. That distinction matters because two people can each send the same number of visitors and produce very different advertising results.

Audience location, device type, article subject, advertiser demand, season, viewability, engagement, available inventory and competition in the advertising auction can all affect how much a group of readers is worth to advertisers.

What Could One Successful Article Distribution Look Like?

Consider an illustration involving one article and one audience.

Illustration: One Link Shared to a 100,000-Follower Audience

Suppose you share one Las Vegas News article through an influencer, page, creator or community with 100,000 followers.

If 10% of that audience reads the article that day, you successfully helped distribute one story to approximately:

100,000 × 10% = 10,000 readers

If those 10,000 readers generate an average of three publisher ad impressions each, the readership could generate approximately:

10,000 readers × 3 ads = 30,000 ad impressions

Now assume those impressions generate a $10 ad eCPM. In plain English, that means the advertising generated an effective $10 in gross advertising revenue for every 1,000 ad impressions.

30,000 ÷ 1,000 = 30

30 × $10 = $300 gross advertising revenue

If your Partner commission level is 20%, your estimated commission in this illustration would be:

$300 × 20% = $60

This is an illustration, not a promise of earnings. Actual readership, ad impressions, eCPM and Partner earnings can be higher or lower.

A $10 Ad eCPM Is Not a Ceiling

Advertising rates are not fixed. The $10 ad eCPM in the example above is simply an easy number for explaining the math.

Google AdSense defines ad RPM as estimated earnings divided by ad impressions, multiplied by 1,000. Its related Impression RPM metric measures average estimated earnings for every 1,000 impressions. Google’s AdSense documentation.

Las Vegas News has seen that variability firsthand. In one internal AdSense report reviewed for this article, high-end mobile traffic produced a $48.02 Impression RPM and a $114.05 Page RPM. The same report showed desktop traffic at a $15.58 Impression RPM and a $43.21 Page RPM. Other Las Vegas News reporting has shown much lower rates, including traffic below $1, while company historical records have also recorded exceptional RPM periods above $200 on certain traffic.

What this means for a Partner

Ten thousand readers do not automatically have the same advertising value as another ten thousand readers. A high-value audience reading a commercially valuable article in a competitive advertiser market can monetize very differently from lower-demand traffic.

This is also why Las Vegas News does not reduce Partner earnings to a flat payment for every click or visit. The program is designed around the actual eligible advertising value created by attributed readership.

One Link Can Keep Working After You Share It

A digital article behaves more like a shared video or social post than a physical newspaper handed to one person.

Someone may discover your article immediately. Another person may see it hours later. A reader may send the tracked link through a group chat, email it to a friend, repost it on social media or share it with family. A person who arrives through your Partner distribution may also continue reading other Las Vegas News stories.

You share one article → a reader opens it → the reader may read more stories → the reader may reshare your tracked link → more readers arrive → more eligible advertising activity can be attributed to your Partner account while attribution remains active.

That means one successful share is not necessarily limited to the people you personally reached on the first day. You start the distribution. Real readers can help the story travel farther.

You Can Share More Than One Story

Digital News Distributors are not limited to one article. Approved Partners can distribute multiple eligible Las Vegas News stories and use their private dashboard to see how their activity is performing.

The dashboard is designed to help Partners understand which stories are attracting readers, how readership is engaging, how links are performing and how eligible advertising revenue is contributing to estimated commission.

Over time, that makes distribution less about guessing and more about learning. A Partner can identify the stories, audiences and distribution channels that work best and concentrate future effort where it produces stronger results.

You Do Not Have to Build the Audience Alone

Your earning opportunity is not limited to the number of followers on your own social account.

You may know a friend, spouse, relative, coworker, business owner, blogger, community organizer, Facebook Group administrator, TikTok creator, YouTuber, newsletter publisher or influencer who already has an audience. A Digital News Distributor can build relationships and develop a legitimate distribution network around relevant news.

That idea fits the way news is already being discovered. Pew Research Center found that 69% of Americans who regularly get news from social-media news influencers say they mostly happen to come across that news rather than deliberately looking for it.

Think like a distributor, not just a poster.

Your own social account can be one distribution channel. Your larger opportunity can come from the network of real people, creators, groups, businesses and communities you build around it.

Get Paid to Share Articles — Without Writing Them

Many people search online for ways to get paid to write articles. Freelance writing is one legitimate way to earn from publishing, but Digital News Distribution is a different role.

You do not have to report the story, conduct interviews, edit copy or operate a newsroom. Las Vegas News publishes the journalism. The Digital News Distributor helps that journalism reach legitimate readers.

In simple terms, the writer creates the article. The distributor creates reach. Both functions matter in publishing.

Which Articles Can Earn More?

There is no universal answer, because advertising auctions change continuously. But the subject of an article can influence advertiser demand.

Some business, technology, finance, legal, travel, real estate, consumer, entertainment or other commercially valuable topics may attract stronger advertiser competition at particular times. A story that reaches readers advertisers strongly want to reach may generate more advertising revenue than another story with similar traffic.

That is one reason the private Partner dashboard matters. Rather than relying on internet claims about which niche supposedly pays the most, Partners can study their own distribution results and learn from actual performance.

How to Make More Money Sharing News: The Dos and Don’ts

Do

  • Bring real people who are genuinely interested in the article.
  • Share stories with audiences for whom the subject is relevant.
  • Use social media, websites, newsletters, communities and creator relationships responsibly.
  • Let readers read naturally and decide for themselves what to open next.
  • Review your dashboard and learn which links and audiences perform best.
  • Build repeatable distribution relationships rather than depending on one social account.

Don’t

  • Do not use bots, fake visits or automated traffic.
  • Do not repeatedly refresh your own links to manufacture activity.
  • Do not click your own ads.
  • Do not ask readers, friends or family to click advertisements.
  • Do not buy cheap traffic packages promising guaranteed clicks or visits.
  • Do not spam unrelated groups or communities simply to increase numbers.

Bring real people. Share relevant stories. Let readers read naturally. Leave the ads alone.

Why Traffic Quality Matters More Than a Big Number

Ten thousand fake visits are not more valuable than a smaller number of genuine readers. Automated traffic can create risk for advertising systems, distort performance data and fail to generate legitimate advertising value.

A real reader can spend time with the article, continue to another story, return later and share useful content with other people. That is the kind of distribution that creates a sustainable publishing audience.

Can You Share on Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, Quora or Other Platforms?

The opportunity is not built around one platform. The important question is whether you are reaching genuine readers in a way that respects the rules of the platform or community where you are sharing.

Facebook and YouTube remain major places where Americans encounter news, while Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit and other networks also contribute to discovery. Pew’s 2025 social-media news data found that 38% of U.S. adults regularly get news on Facebook and 35% on YouTube, with 20% doing so on Instagram and 20% on TikTok.

A relevant discussion in a community can be more valuable than dropping the same link into dozens of unrelated places. Distribution quality matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I get paid simply for posting a link?

No. Partner earnings are tied to eligible advertising revenue generated by legitimate attributed readership, not merely to the act of posting.

Do I need 100,000 followers?

No. The 100,000-follower example is used only to make the distribution math easy to understand. Partners can begin with much smaller audiences and build distribution relationships over time.

Is the $10 ad eCPM fixed?

No. It is an illustration. Actual advertising rates can be below $1, above $10, into the tens of dollars or substantially higher on exceptional traffic. Las Vegas News has directly observed large differences across devices, audiences and reporting periods.

Can one article keep generating activity after I share it?

Yes. Articles can continue to be discovered and reshared. Readers can also continue to other Las Vegas News stories. Additional activity can remain associated with the Partner while attribution is active.

Can I distribute more than one article?

Yes. Approved Partners can share multiple eligible stories and monitor their results from the private Partner dashboard.

Do I have to write articles?

No. This is a distribution opportunity. Las Vegas News publishes the journalism; the Partner helps distribute published stories to genuine readers.
