LAS VEGAS — A young girl suffered serious injuries Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Lake Mead Boulevard outside a marked crosswalk, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

The collision occurred at approximately 4:38 p.m. on Nov. 11, 2025, on Lake Mead Boulevard east of Peaceful Spirit Lane, a stretch of roadway often congested during the evening commute.

Investigators say a 2019 Nissan Rogue, driven by 31-year-old Las Vegas resident Leticia Loos, was traveling eastbound in the outside lane when an 11-year-old female pedestrian began crossing southbound across the busy roadway. Police noted the child was walking outside a marked crosswalk and in heavy traffic conditions.

LOOS reportedly applied her brakes and swerved in an attempt to avoid the pedestrian, but the crash was unavoidable, LVMPD said.

The child was transported by ground ambulance to UMC Trauma, where medical personnel classified her injuries as serious. Authorities did not release additional details about her condition.

Police say the driver remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.

The incident remains under active investigation by the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section.
