Community Invited To Celebrate at Love on Jackson Block Party in Historic Westside

The City of Las Vegas is inviting the community to gather in the Historic Westside for the Love on Jackson Block Party, a free event celebrating neighborhood pride, culture and redevelopment efforts along Jackson Avenue.

The block party is scheduled from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, on Jackson Avenue between D and F streets. The event is open to the public.

Attendees can expect live entertainment, a farmers market, a car and motorcycle show, youth activities, participation from local businesses, community service providers and complimentary refreshments while supplies last.

“Jackson Avenue once stood as the vibrant heart of commerce and business activity in the Historic Westside,” Ward 5 Councilwoman Shondra Summers-Armstrong said. “Love on Jackson honors that rich legacy while energizing the city’s commitment to the thoughtful redevelopment and revitalization of the Historic Westside community.”

Summers-Armstrong encouraged residents across the valley to attend, calling the event an opportunity to celebrate both the neighborhood’s history and its future.

HUNDRED Plan Revitalization Efforts

The event aligns with the city’s HUNDRED (Historic Urban Neighborhood Design Redevelopment) Plan in Action, an initiative focused on long-term revitalization of the Historic Westside.

As part of the plan, Jackson Avenue underwent significant reconstruction beginning in November 2022, when the corridor closed between H and C streets for roadway improvements. The project included:

• Installation of wider sidewalks
• Upgraded street lighting
• New landscaping and trees
• Replacement of water lines
• Pavement removal and reconstruction

City officials said the improvements were designed to enhance walkability, multi-modal mobility and overall neighborhood aesthetics while supporting economic development.
