LAS VEGAS (LVN) — A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officer has been arrested and placed on paid suspension following allegations stemming from a domestic-related incident, department officials said Monday.
According to a statement from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Officer Gary Moody was arrested on Dec. 21, 2025, and booked into the Clark County Detention Center. Moody faces one count of preventing or dissuading a person from reporting a crime or causing prosecution or arrest, and one count of domestic battery, first offense.

Police said Moody has been employed with LVMPD since 2022 and is assigned to the department’s Community Safety Division, Bolden Area Command. Following his arrest, the department placed him on suspension of police powers with pay while the matter is reviewed.
LVMPD officials emphasized that the arrest is part of an ongoing process and that the case remains under investigation. No additional details about the circumstances leading to the arrest were released, and the department did not identify whether the incident occurred on or off duty.
As with all criminal cases, Moody is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. Court records were not immediately available Monday, and it was not known when Moody is scheduled to make an initial appearance.
The arrest was announced through the department’s Office of Public Information under case number LLV251200078918. LVMPD said further updates will be provided as appropriate.
