Thomas P. Hutchison, a devoted husband, father, Papaw and friend traded his old earthly home for a brand-new mansion in Heaven on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026. For more than 45 years, Thomas worked as a dedicated machine operator at Swift then Bunge. He worked for many years at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo mostly for fun and his love for people and horses. His long career reflected a steady commitment to his work and those alongside whom he served. Known to many as Tommy, he enjoyed talking with everyone he met to him, no one was a stranger. He loved trains, going fishing, hunting and his precious family. He enjoyed watching western movies, rodeos, baseball and the Dallas Cowboys. These simple interests were part of the life he built and shared with those around him. Tommy will be remembered with love by those who knew him and by the family who will carry his memory forward. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Henry and Alice Genevieve Hutchison; and wife of 50 years, Mary Annette Hutchison, and brother, Denny Hutchison, and his grandson Douglas Barnes. Tommy is survived by daughters, Julie Wood and Cindy Kennedy; grandchildren, Thomas Barnes and wife, Amberlynn, Cassie Stevens and husband, Eddie; great grandchildren, Katherine Grace Barnes, Benjamin Alfredo Barnes, Thomas Champ Barnes, Mason Mora, Jakx James Stevens and Carma Annette Stevens; brother, Hutchie Hutchison and wife, Beverly; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Haltom City Police Department or Fire Station. Funeral: 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026, in Greenwood’s Independence Chapel at 3210 White Settlement, Fort Worth 76107. Interment to follow in Greenwood Memorial Park.
