She graduated from Eastern Hills High, where she played the clarinet in the Highlander Marching Band. She enjoyed life with her husband of 45 years, Randy Maples, and together they raised daughters, Melissa and Christina, granddaughter, Ashley, and provided a warm, loving home to over twenty pets throughout the years, including dogs, cats, birds, fish, and even a few reptiles. Their home on Dora Street was filled with decades of laughter, love and the best hugs. Our Mimi was an avid reader, a casino enthusiast, and thoroughly enjoyed her time spent out with friends and family. Together, she and Papaw created many memories with yearly travel and vacations, including an Alaskan Cruise, trips to Colorado, Tennessee, New Mexico and many other states, with Nevada being a favorite. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Imogene; and husband, Curtiss “Randy” Maples. Susan is survived by her daughters, Melissa Everidge and Christina Maples; granddaughter, Ashley (and Ryan) Thomas; three great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Savannah, and Nathaniel Thomas; her niece, Jackie (and Nick) Towry and their sons, Hudson and Micah Towry; and brothers, Ted Morrow and Gary (and Paula) Morrow.
