Richard Dean Roach – Feb. 22, 1928 – Oct. 7, 2026

Richard Roach, age 98, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026. Funeral Service: 12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: One hour prior to the service. Richard was born on Feb. 22, 1928, in Manchester, Oklahoma and was raised in Fort Worth. He married the love of his life, Fannette, April 8, 1950; they were married until her passing in 2019. The joy of his life, other than Fannette, was his wonderful daughter Eileen. He loved Jesus and studying God’s Word, which he found much more reliable than the Dallas Cowboys, a true thorn in his side after Tom Landry left. His love for God’s Word led him to decades of service in his local church – serving in positions from teaching Sunday school to elder. If the Word was preached, Richard was ready to learn. Richard loved the people in his life with a fierce loyalty and hope, never giving up on others. If he loved you, he believed in you and wanted you to be successful. He was kind, helpful, and the most honest person you would ever meet. He was a true engineer at heart – any problem had a solution and he would work until that solution was found. Richard worked for both large and small companies, bringing profitability and leadership to anything he touched. Everyone wanted him on their teams because “what you see is what you get.” One of his proudest life achievements is starting his own business, R-O manufacturing, with a colleague in 1980. He was able to retire off the sale of the business in 1989, and R-O Mfg still exists today. Richard loved Fannette and their daughter Eileen. He cared deeply for their friends and family. His favorite pastime was golf, he “shot his age” until he was in his mid-80s. Richard played golf until age 96. He had additional hobbies, often started by Fannette but he was game to try anything, including bridge and even square dancing! They ended up making some of their best (and longest) lifelong friendships with other couples in their bridge club and square dancing group. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Winnie Roach; his five older sisters; His wife, Fannette; son, Edward Roach; and his son-in-law, Bill Fuller. He is survived by his daughter, Eileen (Mark) Born; his grandchildren, Angela (Hans) Kautz and Will (Frances) Fuller; and four great-grandchildren. He will be missed by an incredible lineage of nieces, nephews, and their families. He loved his daughter Eileen’s “bonus” family, the Borns, and greatly enjoyed the previous several years of bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by countless family and friends whom he loved dearly. MOUNT OLIVET CHAPEL Greenwood Funeral Homes – Cremation 2301 N. Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth 76111 817-831-0511
