Social Media Post Calls for Assassinating all Elected NH Democrats

CONCORD — The X account of the Libertarian Party of NH Tuesday called for assassinating every elected Democrat in New Hampshire.

In a post that has been taken down on the Libertarian Party of NH account, party chair Jeremy Kauffman wrote, “We openly support the assassination of basically every elected Democrat in New Hampshire. 

“But if you don’t have the balls to do that then you should probably vote GOP.”

Kauffman sought to become chair of the national Libertarian Party earlier this year, but was defeated, and the national party decertified the New Hampshire Party for a number of reasons associated with Kauffman’s actions such as endorsing Donald Trump for president and not the Libertarian candidate.

Kauffman also threatened former Executive Councilor Andru Volinsky’s life after he and others proposed a new school funding plan that included an income tax and a statewide property tax to cover the state’s costs.

According to a post on Facebook, the House Minority Leader Alexis Simpson has reported the post to the Director of Security at the Legislature and to the Attorney General’s Office.

The Attorney General’s Office was also contacted when Kauffman threatened Volinsky as well but no state action was taken.

There have been a series of threats this year involving legislators including referring to the German phrase for eliminating Jews under the Nazi reign when singling out a Jewish Representative and reporting an Asian American House member to Steven Miller, the head of Trump’s undocumented immigrants roundup and deportation campaign.

Two Republican House members were censured for their social media posts, Reps. James A. Spillane, R-Deerfield, and Travis Corcoran, R-Weare.

A recent social media campaign run through House Deputy Majority Leader Joe Sweeney’s political action committee calls all of the Democrats in the House socialists through their voting records on a selected list of bills, while all Republicans are called patriots based on the same reasons.

The social media campaign also says that Democrats are a threat to the state.
