Poll: Trump Approval Hits New Low in NH; Most Believe Iran Conflict Going Poorly

DURHAM, NH – Two-thirds of New Hampshire residents disapprove of President Trump’s handling of his job, the highest percentage to disapprove in either of his terms in office, and approval of his handling of the economy and foreign policy have fallen to record lows.

Sixty-seven percent of New Hampshire residents disapprove of Trump’s overall job as president, only 32 percent approve, and 1 percent are unsure.

Three-quarters believe the Iran conflict is going poorly and a majority believe the conflict cannot be won. Most favor an immediate end to the conflict even under unfavorable terms or without an agreement. New Hampshire residents remain split about the seriousness of voter fraud in the country, but most think it is not a serious problem in New Hampshire.

Granite Staters are more likely than Vermonters and Massachusetts residents to approve of President Trump’s overall job performance but are less likely than Rhode Islanders and Mainers.

More than two-thirds of residents in each New England state believe the Iran conflict is going poorly for the United States. New Hampshire residents are more likely than Massachusetts and Rhode Island residents to believe the stories related to the September11th attacks. On voter fraud, New Hampshire residents are among the least likely in New England to say it is a problem in their own state but are among the most likely to say it is a problem in the country as a whole.

These findings are based on the latest Granite State Poll, conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center. Granite State Panel members were sent an invitation to complete the survey and 1,542 completed the survey online between September 17 and September 21, 2026. The margin of sampling error for the survey is +/- 2.5 percent.
