Emma Castro, age 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Arlington, on Oct. 31, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, treasured memories, and a family who will forever hold her close in their hearts. Born on Dec. 22, 1936, in Brady, Texas, to Andrea Cruz, Emma was raised in George West, Texas. The oldest of eight siblings, she grew up with a strength and determination that would define her throughout her life. In 1954, she married Marcelino Castro, and together they built a family that became her greatest legacy. Emma was a woman of great strength, resourcefulness, and unwavering faith. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, shelling, and collecting antiques, and always had a tender heart for stray animals. She was known for making something out of nothing, finding a way through life’s challenges, and helping others whenever she could. She lived life on her own terms, loved wholeheartedly, and never hid who she was or how deeply she cared. Above all, Emma’s greatest joy was her family. She was the heart of her family, the one who brought generations together and made every gathering feel like home. Nothing made her happier than being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her love was unconditional, and her strength, faith, and life lessons will continue to live on through the generations she helped shape.
