Eddie Ray McBride passed away Nov. 3, 2026.
A Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, 2026 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment: 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2026 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Eddie was born Jan. 22, 1938 in Fort Worth. Some 78 years ago when he was 10, his family moved to South Fort Worth on what is now the access road to I-35 before it was constructed. This transition became the beginning of a long term friendship between the McBride and Montes Families, resulting in the almost 64 year marriage of Ed and Ana.
Ed is the father of Theresa Cupp, Michael (Dottie), and Sean; Pops to Julie Ann Kinworth, Lauren Cowles (Michael), Bill Cupp (Emily), Jonathon (Alex), Makenzie Mohammed (Zack) and John Steven McBride; Great Grandpops to Rafe Kinworthy, Huey and Anthony Mohammed and Elena McBride.
Having moved to Benbrook in April of 1962, Ed and Ana became in time, very active members of Holy Family Church through many avenues. He was a trainer and coordinator of Altar Servers, a Eucharistic Minister; along with Ana, mentors to engaged couples preparing for marriage, a confirmation sponsor twice, and with Ana assisted in the Funeral Celebrations of many fellow parishioners.
Ed was also a one-time soccer coach to Michael and Sean, resulting in a lifelong passion for the “beautiful game.”
In later years, Ed became a sometime “pharmacy tech” for ten years on medical missions to Honduras, a role he took to and enjoyed.
It is with great sadness yet joy, that we, his family, commend Ed to God in thanksgiving for his life.
Memorials: Should friends desire, memorials in lieu of flowers, may be given to The Society of St. Vincent dePaul or The Wounded Warrior Project.
