LAS VEGAS — A 27-year-old man is facing two counts of open murder with a deadly weapon after Las Vegas police say he killed both of his parents inside their home late Saturday night.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 11:28 p.m. on Dec. 27 after a male caller told a dispatcher he had just killed someone and intended to harm himself. The caller did not initially provide a location, but dispatchers were able to trace the call to a residence in the 6400 block of New Brunswick Avenue.
While officers were responding, the caller contacted police again from the area of East Stewart Avenue and North Fogg Street. Officers located the suspect at that location and took him into custody without incident. Police identified the suspect as Adrian Bailey, 27.
Officers subsequently responded to the New Brunswick Avenue residence, where they discovered an adult male and an adult female unresponsive in the living room. Both victims had sustained apparent blunt force trauma. The male was pronounced dead at the scene. The female was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The LVMPD Homicide Section responded and assumed control of the investigation. Detectives later determined that Bailey allegedly struck both of his parents with an unknown object before leaving the residence.
Bailey was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on two counts of open murder with a deadly weapon, police said.
The identities of the victims, along with the official cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office at a later time.
