The flags were out, the floats were colorful and Tulsans’ LGBTQ+ pride was on full display during Oklahomans for Equality’s annual Pride festival Oct. 17.

Construction brought the festivities from outside the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center on 4th Street to 6th Street and Frankfort Avenue.

Organizers moved Tulsa Pride from June to October two years ago to avoid the stifling summer temperatures. The event featured a vendor market, bar, food trucks, kids zone and a main stage, where attendees signed a giant Pride banner before performances began.

Photojournalist Zac Thomas captured some scenes from the parade and day of celebration for the Flyer.
