UPDATE: Attorney General John Formella added more information at around 5 p.m. Tuesday:
At approximately 9:34am on October 27, 2026, Manchester Police were called to a home at 59 Wheelock Street in Manchester, for a requested welfare check. The caller expressed concern for the three residents of the home: an adult male, adult female, and their eight-year-old male child.
Officers arrived to find the adult male and an adult female deceased inside the home, and the eight-year-old child alive, suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso. The injured child has been transported to a regional trauma center where he is in stable condition and receiving treatment.
The adult female appeared to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The adult male appeared to have suffered a single gunshot wound to the head. Both adults were pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, detectives are investigating this event as a potential murder/suicide.
Autopsies are scheduled to take place tomorrow on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Concord, New Hampshire.
There is no known threat to the general public at this time.
No further information is expected this evening. An additional release with the names of both victims is expected after next of kin have been notified, and both autopsies have been conducted.
