LAS VEGAS (LVN) — Clark County commissioners recognized the Nevada Consular Corps during a proclamation ceremony at the Clark County Government Center, honoring its role in strengthening international, cultural, and economic ties.
Commission Chairman Tick Segerblom presented the proclamation on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners as members of the Consular Corps joined county leaders in the commission chambers.
The Nevada Consular Corps includes 25 honorary consuls representing countries from around the world. The members serve as official liaisons between their nations and the State of Nevada, supporting diplomatic relations, cultural exchange, and international business connections.
Consular Corps members are accredited by the U.S. government and appointed by the governments they represent. Most are not career diplomats but Nevada residents who volunteer their time to assist foreign nationals and promote international cooperation.
County officials noted that Nevada’s growing diversity and global engagement make the work of the Consular Corps increasingly important.
