LAS VEGAS (Las Vegas News) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has recognized Officer Elliott Castile as its February “Good Ticket” award recipient, honoring both Black History Month and his 25 years of service to the department and the community.

Castile, a quarter-century veteran of LVMPD, was celebrated for his longstanding commitment to community engagement, youth mentorship and public service beyond traditional law enforcement duties.

Throughout his career, Castile has worked extensively in community-focused roles. He spent four years assigned to the department’s Community Outreach Team and Redirection and Education Team, where he mentored students and supported youth sports initiatives across the Las Vegas Valley. Department officials say his efforts helped strengthen trust between officers and residents while fostering positive relationships with young people.

Colleagues credit Castile with using engagement and mentorship as tools to bridge gaps between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

His volunteer work extends outside of uniformed duties. Each spring, Castile serves as the Easter Bunny visiting children in local hospitals. He also portrays Santa Claus during LVMPD’s annual Shop with a Cop event. Department leaders noted that for many children, especially those from underrepresented communities, seeing a Santa Claus who reflects their identity sends a powerful message about representation and inclusivity within law enforcement.

Castile recently transferred to LVMPD’s Airport Bureau, where he now helps oversee safety operations at Harry Reid International Airport, assisting with the protection of millions of visitors traveling to and from Southern Nevada each year.

As part of the recognition, Resorts World Las Vegas, in partnership with the LVMPD Foundation, presented Castile with a staycation package that includes a hotel stay, dining and beverage credit, and entertainment tickets.

The “Good Ticket” program highlights officers who demonstrate outstanding service, community leadership and dedication to Southern Nevada residents.
