Cooley Scores Four Straight Goals as Mammoths Beat Golden Knights 5–1

Cooley Scores 4 Straight as Mammoth Rout Golden Knights 5–1

Logan Cooley delivered one of the biggest individual performances of the NHL season, scoring four consecutive goals and finishing with five points to power the Mammoths to a 5–1 win over the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday night.

Cooley took over the game from the second period onward, scoring in rapid succession and overwhelming a Golden Knights team that struggled to slow the 20-year-old forward’s speed, puck control and precision finishing. It marked the first four-goal game of his NHL career and one of the most dominant outings ever by a Mammoths rookie.

The Golden Knights opened the scoring early, jumping ahead 1–0 before Cooley took command. By the midpoint of the second period, he had already tied the game and then pushed the Mammoths ahead 2–1. His third and fourth goals came in the late second and early third periods, effectively putting the game out of reach for Vegas.

The Mammoths controlled possession for much of the night, using Cooley’s surge to extend shifts in the offensive zone and keep pressure on the Vegas defense. After Cooley’s four-goal run, the Mammoths added a fifth tally to seal the victory and close out a complete road performance.

Vegas, meanwhile, struggled to generate sustained offense after its early goal. The Golden Knights were held scoreless for the final two periods, unable to match the Mammoths’ pace and puck movement. Goaltending was tested repeatedly as the Mammoths peppered shots from the slot and the boards, opening clear lanes for Cooley’s finishes.

The loss continues an uneven stretch for the Golden Knights, who have dropped several key games during a crowded midseason schedule. The Mammoths, boosted by Cooley’s breakout, gained momentum in the Western Conference race.

Cooley finished the night with four goals and one assist, one of the season’s top individual stat lines and a reminder of his rising-star status in the league.
