Clark County Commission holds final 2025 meeting Tuesday

LAS VEGAS (LVN) — Clark County commissioners held their final meeting of 2025 on Tuesday, Dec. 16, closing out the year with an agenda that ranged from county contracts and public works projects to housing-related items, airport system updates, and board appointments. The following summary is based on the official agenda for the meeting.

The joint meeting will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025, inside the Commission Chambers at the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway. In addition to the Board of County Commissioners, the session also includes the Moapa Valley Fire Protection District Board of Fire Commissioners, the Clark County Water Reclamation District Board of Trustees, the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada Board of Hospital Trustees, and the Clark County Liquor and Gaming Licensing Board Agenda.

Proclamations and recognitions to open meeting

The meeting will open with ceremonial items, including proclamations declaring Dancing Dreidels Day in Clark County and recognizing the role of the Nevada Consular Corps. Commissioners will also recognize Clark County Social Services Manager Brenda Barnes for receiving the Patriot Award from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, along with honoring county employees named Value Champions Agenda.

Consent agenda covers contracts, infrastructure, and services

A significant portion of the meeting will be dedicated to the consent agenda, which includes routine but impactful items such as:

  • Approval of contracts for homeless encampment cleanupstreetlight LED upgrades, and wire theft replacement projects.
  • Multiple public works agreements tied to major roadway and flood control projects, including work along the 215 Bruce Woodbury Beltway and the Blue Diamond Wash Railroad Channel.
  • Amendments and funding increases for IT professional servicesinsurance brokerage services, and forensic psychiatric services.
  • Actions related to affordable housing trust fundsalternative living services for youth, and parks and recreation donations.
  • Temporary pawnbroker licenses for TNT Pawn & Jewelry locations in the southwest valley Agenda.

Public hearings include land lease and liquor waiver

Two public hearings are scheduled for 10 a.m., including a proposed public auction and long-term lease of more than 4,200 acres of county-owned land near Laughlin, with a minimum annual appraised value exceeding $1.16 million. Commissioners will also hear a request for a liquor store location waiver on South Fort Apache Road Agenda.

Policy, governance, and airport updates

Later in the agenda, commissioners are expected to:

  • Receive updates on the Baseball Stadium Community Oversight Committee and community benefits program.
  • Review the performance of County Manager Kevin Schiller for the past year.
  • Make multiple board and committee appointments, including the Community Development Advisory Committee, the Business Development Advisory Council, and the UMC Governing Board.
  • Consider a non-binding affordable mortgage lending agreement tied to the county’s Welcome Home Community Land Trust.
  • Receive an audit report and operational updates on Harry Reid International Airport and the Southern Nevada Supplemental Airport Agenda.

Meeting access and public participation

The meeting will be broadcast live on Clark County Television (CCTV) and streamed online. Members of the public may comment on agenda items and during the general public comment period, subject to time limits and posted procedures.

The Dec. 16 session serves as the final commission meeting of the year, closing out 2025 with decisions that will shape county operations, infrastructure investments, and community programs heading into 2026.
