Thanksgiving Weekend in Las Vegas 2025: Free Family Events

LAS VEGAS — Families spending Thanksgiving weekend in Las Vegas will find a wide range of free and family-friendly events across the valley, with community celebrations, cultural programming and seasonal entertainment scheduled from Thursday through Sunday.

Holiday Lightings and Downtown Events

The City of Las Vegas will open the holiday season Friday with its annual Downtown Holiday Tree Lighting at the Fremont Street Experience. The ceremony will include a brief countdown, live music and expanded seasonal décor along the pedestrian mall. The event is free and open to all ages.

At Symphony Park, visitors can explore a temporary holiday display featuring illuminated sculptures, photo areas and children’s craft stations operated by local nonprofit partners.

Movies and Activities in City Parks

The city’s Parks and Recreation Department will host several free outdoor movie nights at Centennial Hills, Bob Baskin and Molasky parks. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs; outside snacks are allowed.

Multiple parks will also host free “Turkey Burn” fitness sessions Saturday morning. The classes are open to all ages and do not require registration.

Cultural Festivals and Community Markets

The Cultural Corridor will expand its monthly community market for the holiday weekend, offering local vendors, youth performances and hands-on educational activities. Admission is free.

At the Winchester Dondero Cultural Center, families can participate in free art demonstrations, multicultural holiday workshops and live storytelling.

Library District Programs

The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District will offer a full lineup of free Thanksgiving-themed programs, including storytimes, craft hours and STEM activities.

Events include “Stories of Gratitude” at the West Charleston Library on Saturday and a children’s puppet show at the Sahara West Library.

Free Seasonal Entertainment

Several properties on and off the Strip will offer free holiday-themed attractions throughout the weekend.

The LINQ Promenade will feature nightly snowfall effects and its holiday fountain show. Downtown Summerlin will host skating exhibitions and musical performances, and The District at Green Valley Ranch will continue its seasonal light displays.

Parking fees may apply at some locations, but the events themselves are free.

Community Meals and Giveaways

Local nonprofits across the valley will provide free community meals, food distributions and donation drives during the long weekend. Programs support families, youth, seniors and residents experiencing homelessness. Most events do not require advance registration.

Holiday Weekend Outlook

With mild weather expected, officials say Thanksgiving weekend offers residents and visitors several opportunities to enjoy holiday activities at no cost. Additional program details are available on city and county event calendars.
