LAS VEGAS (Las Vegas News) — Outreach efforts in Las Vegas are helping connect homeless and at-risk youth to lifesaving services, as local organizations work to ensure vulnerable young people are seen, supported, and guided toward stability.
The Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY) partnered with University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District this weekend to host outreach events at UNLV and the Spring Valley Library, engaging youth and community members with critical information about available services.
The events focused on bridging a key gap faced by many young people experiencing homelessness: awareness and access. Representatives from NPHY provided guidance on resources, including emergency shelter, food assistance, healthcare referrals, education support, and pathways to stable housing.
“Outreach is often the first step in helping youth move toward stability,” organizers said during the events. “Many young people don’t know where to turn or may feel invisible. Showing up and starting a conversation can change that.”
Advocates say youth homelessness remains a persistent challenge across Southern Nevada, driven by factors such as family instability, economic hardship, and exposure to abuse or exploitation.
