Las Vegas to Host 2027 College Football Championship

College Football Playoff National Championship Host City Handoff

LAS VEGAS — Las Vegas will host the College Football Playoff National Championship on Jan. 25, 2027, at Allegiant Stadium, placing Southern Nevada at the center of the college football postseason and extending the region’s run as a top-tier destination for major sporting events.

Clark County Commissioner Jim Gibson is serving as co-chair of the local host committee, which is responsible for coordinating logistics, security, transportation, fan engagement, and regional promotion in partnership with state, county and city agencies, as well as the College Football Playoff organization.

The championship is expected to draw tens of thousands of visitors to Las Vegas during one of the region’s peak tourism periods. Local officials anticipate millions of dollars in economic activity, driven by hotel occupancy, dining, transportation, entertainment, and ancillary events scheduled around the game. Allegiant Stadium, home of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders, seats more than 65,000 fans and has hosted Super Bowl LVIII, major international soccer matches, concerts and other large-scale events.

The announcement follows the conclusion of the 2026 College Football Playoff National Championship, hosted in South Florida. County leaders congratulated Indiana Hoosiers football on their championship season and praised Miami Hurricanes football and the Miami-area host committee for staging the 2026 title game.

Las Vegas’ selection continues a broader strategy by Clark County and regional partners to leverage marquee sporting events to diversify the local economy, extend visitor stays, and showcase Southern Nevada on a global stage. In addition to the championship game itself, the weeklong schedule is expected to include fan festivals, media events and community programs across the valley.

The countdown to kickoff stands at 370 days, with preparations already underway for what local officials describe as a first-class national championship experience.
