NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (LVN) — A multi-agency police pursuit spanning the Las Vegas Valley ended Wednesday in a shootout and barricade situation in North Las Vegas, leading to the arrest of a suspect authorities say is connected to multiple armed robberies.
Jarvis Williams, 30, faces numerous felony charges, including attempted murder, after allegedly opening fire on police officers during the pursuit. No officers were injured.
The incident began around 11:10 a.m. Wednesday when Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a reported armed robbery in the parking lot of a business in the 2500 block of South Fort Apache Road. About 20 minutes later, a second armed robbery was reported in the 2100 block of North Rainbow Boulevard. Police said the suspect and vehicle descriptions matched in both incidents.
LVMPD officers broadcast the information, and an LVMPD Air Unit later located the suspect vehicle, a U-Haul truck, near West Lake Mead Boulevard and Rancho Drive. When an officer attempted a traffic stop in a nearby business parking lot, police said the driver rammed a marked patrol vehicle and fled, prompting a pursuit.
The chase ended in the 1900 block of West McDonald Avenue in North Las Vegas. Police said Williams exited the vehicle and fired at pursuing officers, who returned fire. Surveillance video obtained by FOX5 Las Vegas captured the exchange of gunfire.

After the shooting, Williams barricaded himself inside a residence. Crisis negotiators were called to the scene, and after several hours, he was taken into custody without further incident, police said.
In North Las Vegas, Williams is charged with attempted murder, assault on a protected person, evading police and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. In a separate Las Vegas case, he faces charges of robbery with the use of a deadly weapon and robbery of an older person.
Court records show Williams has a prior criminal history, including charges in 2015 involving murder, robbery and firearm-related offenses. Those charges were later reduced, and he served a prison sentence.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue processing evidence related to the robberies and the shooting.
