LAS VEGAS — A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of his girlfriend following an argument inside a Las Vegas residence, police said.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 12:56 p.m. on Jan. 23 to a report of a stabbing in the 1800 block of Canosa Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from apparent stab wounds inside a home.
Medical personnel transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where she later died.
Detectives identified the suspect as Jose Galan-Preval, 46, and determined he stabbed the woman during a domestic argument, police said. Galan-Preval was later located and taken into custody without incident.
He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of open murder with a deadly weapon. The case remains under investigation by the LVMPD Homicide Section.
The victim’s identity, along with the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
